Hi there everybody... I have a question. Does anybody here have a tradition of saving the "wishbone" from your Thanksgiving turkey?? My family has always done this and now I am trying to explain to my kids. But I felt bad telling one child their wish would come true and one that it wouldn't. Then my son said he wished on a falling star once and his wish didn't come true. I told him maybe it would take a long time to come true like til he was a grown up LOL. I have issues with lying to my kids and the holidays always have me fumbling with an explanation. Does anybody know of a good explanation of the tradition of breaking the Thanksgiving turkey wishbone? What do you thnk about perpetuating a tradition of empty wishes?? Food for thought for me today...
